Konami will be releasing Surge of Divine Light, the fifth release in their Structure Deck R series that will be released in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Official Card Game (OCG).
Surge of Divine Light is an enhanced deck of the previously released Structure Deck: Surge of Radiance which focuses on summoning fairy monsters, particularly Parshath monsters with the introduction of the newest monster, Angel Paladin Arch-Parshath (who by the way the design is kinda homage to the Devil Gundam from the series, Mobile Fighter G Gundam) which has an effect to special summon itself (from either the player's hand or graveyard) by activating a counter Trap card or negating an activation of spell, trap or monster effect and banishing 2 fairy monsters to the field / graveyard.
Angel Paladin Arch-Parshath also has a piercing damage effect if it attacks a defense-positioned monster and it has another effect: if this card inflict damage, it can add a Parshath monster or a counter trap card from deck to hand. Considering this effect is handy adding powerful counter trap cards such as Solemn Warning, Solemn Judgment, Solemn Notice, or Ultimate Providence from deck to hand to counter the opponent from summoning monsters and/or activation of monster effect, spell and trap cards; shutting them down.
Speaking of Solemn Warning and Ultimate Providence, these cards will be included in the upcoming Structure Deck release, along with other support cards that will give this deck an edge against meta themed decks. The set contains 42 cards (40-pc base deck plus 1 token card and 1 Ultra Rare promo card), Rulebook, and a double-sided playmat / playing guide.
The Yu-Gi-Oh! Structure Deck R: Surge of Divine Light hits the card shops September 23rd, priced at 1,000 Yen.
