In celebration of Pokémon anime's 20th Anniversary, Bandai will be releasing S.H. Figuarts figures of the iconic characters from the series: Satoshi (aka Ash Ketchum) and Rocket-dan (Team Rocket).
The upcoming figure of Satoshi will be based on his very first outfit when he appeared in the series 20 years ago, of course he comes with an in-scale Pikachu figure which can be displayed in standing or in all fours. Aside from Pikachu, he will also include optional right hand with one holding a Monster ball (Pokeball), a removable cap, extra front hair piece (when his cap is placed on his head, additional facial expression, and a Pikachu holder clip to mount on Satoshi's shoulders.
If Satoshi will be released individually, Team Rocket, however will be released as a set. The set is composed of, of course Musashi (Jessie), Kojiro (James) and Nyaasu (Meowth). Team Rocket comes with optional set of hands for Musashi and Kojiro respectively, an additional right hand holding a rose for Kojiro, and extra facial expressions for all three of them emulating blasting off from the skies after from Pikachu's attacks.
Both will be released this coming July. Satoshi is priced at 4,860 Yen while Team Rocket set is priced at 10,260 Yen.
UPDATE:
Bandai will be releasing a limited edition set with Satoshi and Team Rocket bundled as a set. The set will also include an additional facial expression for Satoshi (see photos above). It will also be released in July, priced at 14,040 Yen. (Additional images courtesy of TAG Hobby).
