Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG January 2019 Banlist Revealed

ICYMI: Konami released the new set of banlist for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Official Card Game (OCG) for the 1st quarter of 2019 that will be implemented on January 1st (which is next week), so advance Happy New Year! Check out the cards that got murdered in the new list.

And the card/s that got killed are: (drum rolls please)!

FORBIDDEN:

GLOW-UP BULB
DANDYLION
KNIGHTMARE GOBLIN
NO. 95: GALAXY-EYES DARK MATTER DRAGON
FIREWALL DRAGON
BLACKWING - STEAM THE CLOAK
M-X-SABER INVOKER
DIVINE SWORD - PHOENIX BLADE

Previously, Summon Sorceress was the first Link monster that got axed, now Knightmare Goblin and Firewall Dragon (both previously Limited) just got slaughtered as well. Added in the list are the two mostly used and abused XYZ monsters, namely Galaxy-Eyes Dark Matter Dragon and Invoker. Konami has been flip-flopping cards in the banlist lately such as Glow-Up Bulb which was first banned that it got limited and then banned again, and Dandylion which was Limited then it got Semi-Limited then got back to Limited status again, until it was finally axed. Other cards that got also butchered were Blackwing - Steam the Cloak (previously Limited) and Divine Sword - Phoenix Blade (previously Unlimited).

LIMITED:

ALTERGEIST MULTIFAKER
CRYSTRON NEEDLEFIBER
CHRONOGRAPH MAGICIAN
SKY STRIKER ACE - KAGARI
MATHEMATICIAN

Altergeist decks are powerful (and also annoying) thanks to its key card, Multifaker, which is worthy to be added this list because its the most used and abused card in the deck. Also included the list is the Crystron Needlefiber which has an effect of Special summoning a Synchro Tuner monster easily (such as T.G. Wonder Magician, Formula Synchron and Lifestream Dragon) from the Extra Deck by banishing this card, so yeah this got abused in decks overtime. Aside from Needlefiber, Sky Striker Ace - Kagiri is also included in the list as its effect was widely used in the the Sky Striker deck which dominated recently in tournaments. Other cards were also added in the list is the infamous Mathematician and Chronograph Magician.

SEMI-LIMITED

Cards that were previously Limited status such as Performage Damage Juggler, Denglong, Snow, the Spell card Spellbook of Knowledge and the Trap card Ceasefire will find relief as its now elevated to Semi-Limited status. Unfortunately for Trickstar Candina and the Altergeist's Trap card, Personal Spoofing just got added to this list (previously Unlimited status) which isn't so bad.

And now here are the cards that are free from the shackles of the banlist:

Remember, the list is applied not only to Japan but to other Asian countries who are using the OCG (Official Card Game) format, please don't forget it when playing in the official sanctioned tournaments. Here in the Philippines, it takes effect this coming Saturday.
