In celebration of GOD EATER's 5th Anniversary, ufotable and Project G.E. announced last September 2014 that they will produce an Anime TV series based on this popular game, now they already posted a teaser video and the series air date is set to premiere this coming July.
For those who haven't heard of the game, GOD EATER is originally a game for the Playstation Portable (PSP) produced by Bandai Namco Games in Japan in 2010 and it was later imported to the United States as GODS EATER BURST, published by D3 Publisher. The story is set in the year 2071, where the world is much destroyed by the mysterious monsters called the Aragami. To combat these monsters, an organization called Fenrir is set to exterminate the Aragami, using weapons they developed from Aragami cells called God Arcs. Those people who wield the God Arcs that exterminates the Aragami are called God Eaters.
The story of the anime series will be based on the first GOD EATER game, I'm wondering if they will retain the original seiyuu cast that voiced in the game. The series will be directed Takayuki Hirao and the character designs will be done by Keita Shimizu while Go Shiina will provide the music for the TV anime as he done the soundtracks originally in the game.
