Saber Marionette fans (like myself) are excited on this news because Animation Innovation Content (AIC) announced that they have acquired the rights to the Saber Marionette franchise by Hiroshi Negishi and Satoru Akahori and a 'Re: Animate' project of the series is also announced.
This was confirmed by Negishi who he is also listed as the Animation company's representative director and he also formally announced on his Twitter account. Though the format of the project is not yet revealed, we'll just have to wait for further news on this.
Saber Marionette first aired in the 90's about a world with no women, only female androids called Marionettes that can perform little human interaction. This was changed when Otaru Mamiya found 3 unusual Marionettes that has human emotions. The series spawned to Radio dramas, 2 Anime TV series and 2 OVA series.
