Aria H. Kanzaki is back in a new anime TV series titled Hidan no Aria AA (AKA Aria the Scarlet Ammo Double A) that will premiere in the upcoming anime Fall line-up.
Not technically a second season, Hidan no Aria AA is a spin-off series based on the manga of the same title written by Shogako Tachibana, which is based from the original light novel created by Chūgaku Akamatsu. The manga is still currently published in Square Enix since the serialization began in November 5, 2010.
Double A focuses on Akari Mamiya; a young girl who idolizes the world-renowned S-ranked Butei, Aria H. Kanzaki and plans to follow in her footsteps. However, her test grades in the academy gave her an E-rank grade. All is not lost, Aria has agreed to give her some pointers on becoming a first rate Butei. Will Aria be able to help the newcomer Akari become a first-rate Butei?
While Aria is the titular heroine, the series much focuses on Akari Mamiya as she struggles to become first rate Butei just like her idol, Aria. The new series features new characters that was original to the manga featuring character designs by Miwa Oshima for the anime series.

The series will be directed by Takashi Kawabata, (Arakawa Under the Bridge x Bridge, Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica Movie 1: Hajimari no Monogatari, and Nisemonogatari). Animation produced by Doga kobo. Mariko Kubo and Chisato Kukinaga serves as the Chief animation directors while the series composition is done by Fumihiko Shimo. Music is done by Takuro Iga and it will be produced by Flying Dog.
