Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG April 2018 Banlist Revealed

Yes its that time once again that Konami released the new set of banlist for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Official Card Game (OCG) that will be implemented next month. check out what card/s that got ban hammed this time.

And the card got ban hammered is none other than, (drum rolls please)!

FORBIDDEN:

BLACKWING – GOFU THE VAGUE SHADOW
PHOENIXIAN CLUSTER AMARYLLIS

Despite Gofu got limited, its still the most used and abused card in any deck/s which summons tokens after its special summoned and it can easily summon a generic Link monster with ease and its a heavy heart that we might not use this for a long time, how sad. Amaryllis on the other hand is powerful in an Plant FTK decks so yes because of its special effect which it can be abused, so this listed in the forbidden list as well.

The Plant FTK deck is dominating in the OCG meta for months now. With banning of Amaryllis (above) and limiting the other cards essential in the deck such as Lonfire Blossom (from Semi-Limited in the previous banlist), and Predaplant Orphys Scorpio, so well the Plant FTK is now literally dead. I'm quite surprised that D-HERO Disk Commander is coming back, but limited to one copy and there's news that it will be reprinted and it will be updated with a new errata. Like Gofu before got banned, the Grinder Golem also got limited from being semi in previous banlist. And Shaddoll is making its comeback with removing of the El Shaddoll Construct from the forbidden list but also got Winda added in the limited list in the process. Other cards just got added in the list are Double Iris Magician, Supreme King Darkwurm, Invoked Mechaba, and Spellbook of Knowledge

SEMI-LIMITED

SOLEMN JUDGMENT
TRUE DRACO HERITAGE

This is quite a surprise that Solemn Judgment is back from limited to semi-limited status, like Solemn Warning from the previous banlist. I'm not expected to see Ash Blossom was added in this list also, since the abuse use of this card in current decks (if there are 3 copies in it) so yeah, it deserved that got limited. Also included in the list are the Aleister the Invoker (previously limited) and True Draco Heritage.

Remember, the list is applied not only to Japan but to other Asian countries who are using the OCG (Official Card Game) format, please don't forget it when playing in the official sanctioned tournaments. The list will take effect April 1st, but here in the Philippines, it takes effect a week before the date or on the day itself (which it will be decided by the official judges).
