Apple officially announces the new Mac OS X dubbed 'El Capitan' for the Apple PCs, Macbooks and servers, this was announced today at Apple's 2015 Worldwide Developers Conference.

The new OS X focuses on two things: experience and performance. Several changes such as improvements on their built-in apps such as their Safari browser where you can pin sites in the tab bar easily, just by dragging it to the left. The Spotlight has made improvements as well: it just got smarter. With its new ability, it can respond queries in your natural language easily, it can also look up to weather, stocks, and game scores.

The Notes has also been improved, you can drag and drop your files and add content directly from other apps, such as Safari or Maps, using its Share menu. Its now easy-to-create checklist helps you keep track of important things to-do, and with the new Attachments Browser, it organizes your attachments in one simple view, making it easy to find what you’re looking for. With iCloud, you can in-sync across all your enabled Apple devices anywhere.

The all-new Mission control interface for better window management if your desktop gets crowded, simply drag a window to the top of the screen to access the new Spaces Bar in Mission Control and create a new Space, its a new way to group applications cluttering on your desktop . It now has as Split View feature (see below image) which it splits the screen in half, one for each app, now you don't have to do tag switching apps.

On to the performance side, apps can be opened 1.4 times faster, and the app switching is twice as fast, even opening PDF files has never been faster, up to 4 times in the Preview app. The Metal graphics core technology, which was first featured in iOS 8 last year and now it is one of the new features of El Capitan,. The Metal's graphics accelerates Core Animation and Core Graphics to boost system-level rendering performance by up to 50 percent, and efficiency by up to 40 percent, which results in faster graphics performance for everyday apps. Metal also takes full advantage of computer's CPU and GPU, delivering up to 10 times faster draw call performance for a richer, more fluid experience in games and pro apps.

The El Capitan has now enhanced international language support feature which also includes a new Chinese system font for both Traditional and Simplified, with 50,000 beautifully designed characters for crisp on-screen readability. It also makes entering Japanese texts much faster by automatically transforming Hiragana texts into written Japanese and reducing the need to individually select and confirm word conversions. It can now also select a perfect font for your documents using four new Japanese typefaces.

With all of the improvements, new features, and improved performance, it makes me think twice switching to Mac, but I want to see the performance of the OS first in its beta testing until the fully functional OS comes out. Currently, a developer preview of the El Capitan is now available to developers while the beta version for Mac users to try it out, will be released this July. And the full and final version of the OS which can be downloaded free from the Mac Store when it will be released this Fall.
